Everyone involved in youth football has a duty to speak up if they have a concern. Whether it relates to behaviour, wellbeing or safety, concerns can be shared with our Welfare Officer or directly with Sussex FA. No issue is too small, and all concerns are treated seriously and confidentially. Acting early helps ensure the game remains a safe and positive environment for everyone.

The FA provides essential safeguarding training to coaches, referees and volunteers working with children. This includes the Safeguarding Children Course and Welfare Officer workshops, ensuring everyone understands their responsibilities and knows how to respond to concerns. Ongoing education helps build a safe, informed grassroots football community.
