MSYFL Competition Rules

League rules are taken from the Standard Code of Rules for Youth Competitions (SCORY) determined by the FA.

All clubs registered with MSYFL are deemed to have accepted the rules and agreed to abide by the decisions of the management committee.

Equality & Inclusivity

The league is committed to promoting inclusivity and to eliminating all forms of discrimination and every club registered with MSYFL is required to do the same. All registered clubs must adhere to the FA Equality Policy.

Every club is responsible for setting standards and values to apply throughout the club at every level. We believe that football belongs to and should be enjoyed by anyone who wants to participate in it.

MSYFL will not tolerate harassment, bullying, abuse or victimisation of an individual. This includes sexual or racially based harassment or other discriminatory behaviour, whether physical or verbal. The league will work to ensure that such behaviour is met with appropriate action in whatever context it occurs.

Code of Conduct

All clubs registered to MSYFL must comply with FA initiatives adopted by the league, including (but not limited to) England Football Respect Codes.

All clubs must also abide by the FA Regulations for Safeguarding Children. Failure to comply with league rules may result in fines being issued.

Coaches and team officials must prioritise the safety, wellbeing and dignity of every player, fostering respectful, trusting relationships and age-appropriate development.

They are expected to uphold high standards of conduct, comply with governing body guidelines, and work collaboratively with others in the best interest of the players.
